Emergencies

Systemic allergic reactions

Seek medical help immediately! Use your Epi-Pen immediately if you have one.

Reacting to something in the room

You’ll have to play detective.  It could be:

  • Something on your clothes or your clothes, so try changing them
  • Could be those shoes.  Take them off and put them away from you.
  • Something near you like a book on your desk or some papers.
  • Are the air purifier filters in need of change?
  • Did you try to stop taking your allergy medicine?
  • It could be the indoor air is too contaminated.  Open the windows.
  • If you have the windows open, it could be something in the air outside, so close the windows and run your air purifiers.
  • Put on a charcoal mask to get some relief.
  • Get out of the house for a while to see if that relieves your symptoms.
  • Could be something on the floor.  Vacuum or mop as appropriate.
  • It could be something you ate.
  • You could be dehydrated.
  • You could have something on you, maybe even your own perspiration is the cause.  Take a shower.
  • You might be reacting to fragrances used by someone, even if they are in a different room.  It could be their hair spray, antiperspirant, cleaning products, etc.
  • You might be reacting to the dry cleaning solution in your clothes

Serious Sinus pain

Your sinuses could be to dry especially if you take allergy pills and use nasal sprays.  You can get some pure saline water at the drug store.  Just water is not recommended.  It’s the wrong ph.  Saline solution with preservatives should be avoided as they cause too many problems. Also, advil or Motrin might help shrink the inflammation and reduce the pain.

Dry mouth

Many of us get such dry mouth that we can’t get to sleep.  I found that tap water, even when filtered does this to me.  Most toothpaste does too.  Try bottled water and no tooth paste for a few days.  If that works, then try to find toothpaste that works for you.

Muscle cramps

You could be:

  • Dehydrated.  Drink several glasses of water.
  • Low on Electrolytes. Try Gatorade.
  • Malnourished.  We have a problem supplying energy to our cells even when we have lots of fat on us.  So eat a nice meal or two; then try to eat better from now on.
  • Out of shape.  Exercise increases your body’s ability to remove toxins.  It increases our body’s ability to provide nutrients to cells.  You are less likely to cramp up if you stretch and work out.
  • Stressed.  Remove stressors from your life.  Try to stay positive. Use self hypnosis.  After my beloved dog passed away I could sleep for three nights.  I bought some self hypnosis recordings made by Glenn Harold through Audible.Com.  That helped see me through it.  I have used his recordings several other times when nothing else worked.
  • Sitting wrong. Check your posture. When you get fatigued do you lean against something?  Learn to be aware of your stress level and your body posture.
  • Sleep deprived.  See the next topic.

Can’t Sleep

We have problems getting to sleep and our sleep is frequently interrupted by our condition.  Some people have found taking Melatonin helps them.

Isolation

Are you getting cabin fever?  Have you been isolated too much from others? Get out and ride a bicycle and talk to your neighbors.
