About Kenneth Brotman
Kenneth Brotman has a history of working on social issues.
He has spent 17 years working to improve the automotive service industry. His main focus is on helping improve customer experiences at repair facilities and enhancing industry stability.
Mr. Brotman has appeared on air for TV and Radio interviews and press conferences.
Among his achievements in this industry are:
Founding the “Best Shops of Greater Houston” program to recognize the best automotive repair shops and help consumers identify quality shops in their area; founding the first online discussion group on shop management called “Shoptalk”, which operated in the early to mid 1990’s; authoring the automotive service industry’s best draft of repair and business standards; developed and presented the automotive service industry’s premier shop management seminars.; and even operated a beautiful 14,000 square ft. automotive facility, AAA approved, with a beautiful showroom, wholesale and retail parts department and fourteen bay service department.
He is a prolific volunteer having helped out at several well know organizations including Red Cross Houston, Grace Lutheran Church (Homeless program and Katrina Shelter), Better Business Bureau of Greater Houston, Asimov Humanists (Webmaster), National Motorists Association of Texas (Webmaster) and Citizens for an Alternative Tax System – Houston (Webmaster).
He has also founded several organizations himself including The Board of Consumer Advocacy, The Social Dancer’s Society, The Federal Tax Reform Network, The Web Based Training Association, and several others.
Well studied in community association issues including deed restrictions, association management and architectural review committees, he applied those skills to organize a local community that was having problems with their association. He received the support of 100% of the subdivision’s residents.
Through the years Mr. Brotman has owned and operated many types of businesses including: retail, service, financial, wholesale, sales distributorships, engineering, not-for-profit associations and manufacturing businesses. He has almost thirty years experience in business.
His work history got off to an early start as an investment advisor at age 13. He then owned and operated a musical equipment repair facility for five years during his early twenties in the Los Angeles area where he provided services to many famous musicians. He also became an electrical engineer designing micro-computer based products.
Turning mainly to consulting he advised many small businesses. He also developed expertise in credentialing including accreditation and certification programs, then advised a large trade association and educational organization on these issues.
His education crosses many disciplines from executive level leadership subjects, core business subjects, engineering and computer sciences subjects, to behavioral sciences, educational psychology and methods, communications, and many, many more.
He holds several computer industry certifications and currently is completing a B.S. in Information Technologies with plans of going on to graduate school.
He is the founder of Modern Social Engineering, a methodology for improving any aspect of a social idea or issue which he considers his life’s most important work.
Mr. Brotman is a sufferer of severe allergies and MCS since birth. He recently got fed up with being sick and tired from his allergies and multiple chemical sensitivities. He is joining with others to help alleviate the effects of these conditions while working towards the complete elimination of them.
Mr. Brotman currently operates Brotman Consulting which provides technology and research solutions to primarily non-commercial organizations that are working on social issues or industry problems.
